Zahava Lupu about herself
"Man does not live on bread alone," and "Does man have no preeminence from the beast?" These are the two axioms which have driven me to attempt to contribute my part to the whole - the world, life, the cosmos.
Creation for me is a way of life, a question of existence, which takes root from the foundation and concentrates on the fundamental. And so, I am left with no alternative but to fulfill this mission solely by way of my work.
My language is drawing, which enables me to sense, know, feel and leads those of you who view my work to understand this language. This is a way of making contact.
Musical contact and contexts relate to the unity of thought in expression, tempo and color. The written word which is used in a composition becomes an integral part thereof. Therefore the combination of drawing and song work to my advantage.
As a woman, I can compare this process to that of pregnancy and childbirth. As a human being, I am certain that these are feelings associated with planting and sowing.
And if I am asked, when is the creation complete? I can only answer with the saying: "Perfection is a divine quality of God. The aspiration to reach perfection is man's unique quality." Therefore, the answer is never.
